I had forgotten all about this little blog of mine until I stumbled across it while doing some stuff on my for-work websites (author and freelance editor). What a lovely little series of snapshots of seminary life it was! I can’t remember now why I stopped updating it, but my goodness did it take me back.
My last post was almost ten years ago. Joy is now halfway through her junior year of high school (yes, attending public school now). Grace is a high school sophomore (also in public school). Carl is working as a full-time engineer. I am the aforementioned author and freelance editor, but my main job is working as the office admin at our church.
The brief summary of the last nine years? Carl finished seminary in 2017, we had a year off and then went to England for him to get his PhD at Cambridge. After a year and half there he quit his PhD for many reasons, but chiefly for the sake of family (long story, and not all mine to share), and we moved back to the US. We settled in Maine right as the pandemic shut everything down in 2020 (fun times!), and here we are still.
Will I keep updating this blog? Who knows, but given how delightful it was to browse through old posts of things I’d long since forgotten (both the good and the bad), I probably will try to do something similar here, for my own sake mostly–keep this as a scrapbook of memories, to be remembered and delighted in somewhere down the road.
